The combination of tradition and modernity

portrait de la fondatrice de Maison Omaël

Elise Goffinon, designer

Epicurean by nature and respectful of the traditional values that have marked my journey as a student in hospitality and catering, I refined my taste for the Arts of the Table by working for many years for a prestigious Parisian silversmith.

Recently, I chose to carve my own path, following this trail of French elegance, writing on a new page, white and pure like porcelain, one of the materials I selected to create my tableware collections. And because nature is well-made and deserves to be preserved and celebrated, I wanted to incorporate materials derived from the treasures it offers us.

An artisanal journey

From idea to realization, each piece is crafted entirely by hand.

It first takes shape on paper: its design is sketched, then it materializes into a model, from which a first mold will be manually created.

The next step is pouring a liquid mixture into the mold: curious about emerging trends and techniques, I chose a material made from a blend of fine sedimentary rock powder and a water-based eco-resin. Depending on the desired effect, pigments can be added to color the piece. Depending on the pouring technique, they will position and mix differently, resulting in a unique outcome with each pour.

After an initial drying time, our piece will be meticulously smoothed and sanded.

Each decorative element will then be applied according to the chosen collection.

After stamping, the piece will finally be coated with a clear food-safe varnish for perfect protection and finish.

A porcelain heart

As the cradle of the most famous porcelain, Limoges has been producing exceptional pieces for over 200 years, with unmatched whiteness and delicacy.

To whom honor is due: at Omaël, porcelain is placed at the center of the plates, thus paying tribute to these two centuries of craftsmanship, perpetuated from generation to generation within one of the first factories in Limoges, by passionate craftmen.
